This past weekend I was fortunate enough to participate in this year's AIGA Design Ranch. I had a ton of fun getting away from the computer and making things with my hands. I also made a lot of new friends from all different design disciplines in different stages of their careers.
Every part of the experience, from the scenic, wildflower-filled drive from Austin to Ingram on 290, to the camp food (kale salad?!?!), to the Flatbed espresso, great beer selection, to the surprisingly comfy beds, I felt like I was living every hipster designer's dream. Even the rain was calming and didn't stick around for too long.
I took a lot of process photos during my different workshops, which were all so much fun. I got to learn the process of making Tintype photography, putting together zines, and I tried to master the chain stitching machine.
